Default Rigid Sideplates Install ('06) HELP!

Anyone encounter difficulties or have tips when removing the rear bolt on the fender strut (the ones that hold the directionals in place)? At first glance, there doesn't seem to be a whole lotta room in there (between the bolt head and the tire) and I don't have a lift/jack/etc to raise the frame. Any advice would be appreciated as I am going to attempt installation of these suckers on my Bob tomorrow morning.

THANKS!

EDIT:

Well, I tried and failed this morning to get the rear bolts outta the fender strut/directional assy. I can get a wrench to it OK, but when I try to back it out it hits the GODDAM tire. If I have to pay the stealer an hour's labor to remove TWO F'ing bolts, its really gonna **** me off. If anyone has any ideas (other than buying a lift), please advise ASAP so I can try it again tomorrow (its already 100 degrees here now and I'm through for the day, except for the beer drinking)...THANKS!

Just did it a week ago. Used the scissor jack outa truck and a 2x4. Saves a lot of hassel with pulling the bolt. I also got some rubberized gasket material and put a strip between fender and sideplate. My experience with sissy bars is they vibrate alot and I didnt want to wreck the paint underneath.

Good idea. Where did ya put it? On the sideplate? Where/which part rubs? The last sideplates I put on were on my Sporty and they went on TOP of the strut cover (never touched the fender). THANKS!

They mount between the fender and frame/strut. Looks a lot more sanitary than the Sporty mounted ones. I traced the sideplate on some gasket and cut it out. Might not be needed, but gives me a better feeling about things. Oh ya, make sure you get the wiring back into the keepers and take some slack out soes you don't rub through on the tire.

I dont think you will get those bolts off unless you raise the bike far enough to clear them.
Use anything you can find.A few blocks of wood and a friend to help sould do it.You only need to raise the bike a little, not off the ground

My friends are even busier than I am, so this is something I'm gonna have to wing myself. I'll spring for a scissor jack, but where should I place it?

THANKS!
