Make sure the piston is moving in and out. Might be jammed. Happened to my FLHTI once.

Can I remove the caliper with out pulling the wheel ? I don't have a manual(I know, I know, that's crazy).

No you can't pull the caliper with out pulling the axle. But you can ckeck to is if the piston is stuck. This is for brake pad replacement. 2007 Service manual.

Did the pedal go down easily when you opened the bleeder screw?
Or did it still only move a little?

Im sure it is but make sure the wheel is true. If the wheel was installed at a andle the brakes wont make good flat contact and they wont work.

When I opened the bleeder, the pedal depressed easily, and fully.

Then it's in the caliper,,,hose, master cyl, and mechanism is all good.
Take the caliper off, useing something slightly smaller than the rotor try the brake and see if the piston moves. I'm guessing it won't, but if it does release and pry the piston back into the caliper. Try it again.
If no movement at all you either can rebuild the caliper or replace it.

Ok guys, all is now well with my rear break issue. I took it to a friend's shop. Lifted it, and he double checked the assembly, and alignment. All was together right, and when we spun the wheel by hand and pressed the rear pedal, the break grabbed. Hmmmm, we lowered it, and he took it for a short ride. Came back jumped off, and said "works now ! " He said the pads must have been glazed, or something slick was on them(don't know what) . He said he stomped it fairly hard and the rear tire chirped. Sped back up a little, applied the break normally, and they were right there like new. So, I rode it about 25 miles and they are definitely working well again. Thanks for the input !
