Default highway mounts

i searched a few threads about highway pegs for a 09 street bob and read three different options. one, adjustable hd highway mounts. two, standard non adjustable highway mounts. three, longhorn offset highway pegs by kuryakyn. i'm 5'8" with about a 29" inseam. i read some say the adjustable was too close and some said the non adjustable was to far (and i assume the adjaustables other is the same as the non adjustable). the long horns sound good but i haven't seen a bike with that set up so i'm unsure if i will like the way it looks. i do know i like the way the hd mounts look. price isn't too much of an issue because its all going to run about the same. well, close enough anyway. does anybody have some opinions taht might help me decide?

I have the non-adjustable hiway pegs on my '07 SB and I use them quite a bit on longer rides. Kept the mid controls and have the option of different foot placement while on extended trips. Since the XYL rides with me once in a while, I installed rear pegs for her and sometimes I will use the rear pegs as another foot rest. Only, with the rear pegs, it looks like I'm riding a sport bike.

You and I are about the same size and inseam. I went (just recently) with the Kuryakyn X-Tension Hiway Peg mounts on the recommendation of bberck, forum member. What a difference they made. They're adjustable and you can set them pretty much where they feel comfortable for you. I wish I could have found them a lot earlier. The Kuryakyn part # is KU-4515 and as I remember, Zanotti HD has the best price on them. They are not the ones shown in my signature pic. I got them on the net from www.Denniskirk.com

Let me know how you go. I'm the same measurments as you but with the mids, just a little bit cramped. Thought about the Kurakyn with the pegs that have a swept portion that you can extend a bit to rest your feet on.

I bought the HD non adjustable ones because I liked the looks better than the adjustable ones.

They worked good with my stock seat but my C&C seat made them a little bit of a reach for me (30 inch inseam). I added the Kury X-tentions to them and love them now. I was able to bring them closer to me, raise them up some and they also stick out a inch further.

Its kind of expensive to buy the HD mounts and add the Kury X-tentions but if could get a pair of mounts off ebay cheap and add the X-tentions it wouldnt be to bad.

Those are the black stock Low Rider mounts with a Chrome 3.5" HD extension and HD Pegs. The low rider mounts are non adjustable but they can be installed two ways. One way being closer to the rider than the other. I went one step further and only installed the bolt in the upper mount hole and set the mount almost vertical (as you can probably see in the sig. pic) then I put a screw through the bottom hole with a nut and lock washer on the other side, The nut on the other side rests against the frame and so the mount can't move forward and the upper OEM bolt locks it down. That was, it is even closer.
