I like to switch things around and keep the neighbors confused.

Mine stay on almost all the time. I almost always ride w/my wife. She pretty much always brings stuff... or, we buy stuff as we're out & about. Living in the Chicago area, if you are gone more than a few hours, the temperature often changes significantly (Yesterday, it was 74° when we left, 48° when we got home). so we often bring extra clothes & gear.

...but, I do take them off frequently for service and cleaning.

Great feedback on this topic. Always used a T-Bag and or a rucksack, but I've decided that I've just got to have a set of bags.

I like the idea of em being QD, but I also agree that that makes em stick out further. On the other hand I like the slick look w/out em for just running around.

Probably going QD, Now, Ghost Brackets, Bare Backs, or Easy Brackets?

I have easy brackets, and they do make the bags stick out some, but I do not mind. One thing I will say about them is you should remove the nut that holds the locking mechanism in place and lock tite it back on before you mount the bags on the brackets. Mine occasionally vibrated loose and caused the mount to bounce up and down on the bracket and make a rattling noise.

My bags attach to 2 little nibs on the bike - they don't stick out further as a result of being QD.

Would you elaborate? Type of mount, etc.?
