This is a shot in the dark, but I was having a similiar sound when taking off. I had no idea what it was until I touched the gas cap. I found out it was the gas cap rattling at certain times. Give it a try and see what happens.

Thanks, but I checked the gas cap early on.
I spoke to the dealer today and he said a Factory Rep stopped by the shop late last week. The Rep rode the bike and said it was normal. The dealer doesn't buy it, and neither do I, but the Rep said that Harley wouldn't cover any more work under warranty. It's been in the shop for 3 weeks straight, they aren't able to fix it, now the factory says it's normal. I'm steamed! I have a call into HD.
It's official, after my bike being at the dealer for the last 3 weeks, and the dealer always being able to reproduce the sound and admitting somethings not right, MOCO says they will not cover it under warrenty, even though the warranty doesn't expire until next May. The individual I spoke to at HD customer service refused to allow me to talk to anyone else about my issue.
wow thats unbelieveable. they better not pull that crap on me. although i dropped the bike off last night and they took it for a test drive, the tech thinks its a heat shield thats loose and rattleing. so we will find out what they do very soon.

I know others can help me with this but I seem to recall someone having a problem that HD wouldn't cover. I believe it was in the tranny or crank case. The dealer said something like "we can tear it a part to see if we can find anything but if we don't it's on your dime". The dealer said it would be about $300.
Well they opened it up, found out what was wrong and MOCO covered it. Don't know if you want to go that route. Just want to let you know what someone else did.

I took my heat shields off prior to taking it in, no difference.
