Default Opinions and/or facts on 200 rear tire, FB

I did my search in regard to the 200 rear tire on a Fat Bob (mine is an 08) and it appears that it will fit fine without any mods. I also noted some opinions and possibly facts (at least in the posters mind) on choosing the 200 vs. stock tire and using it on the stock wheel. So please let me know what you think, good or bad. I know its less than an inch wider, but I think I will like the looks as long as I don't have to give up handling/safety.

IMO, the 180 is about as big as you want to go. Beyond that, it's likely a safety issue. The 180 is tight enough, add a 200 to the mix with tire swell and flex, you're probably asking for trouble. Jut buy aftermarket swing arm kits for bigger tires and be safe.

Excuse my ignorance; but it appears that you were in the service. I want to thank you for myself and my family. Just know that we care.

The guy at the end of my block (he has a vulcan) says I better not go wider; I could die.

What safety issue? Swell? Flex? I've never heard those 2 words associated with tires ever.

haha that's hilarious. Wait- you are kidding right? Yes, of course you are. The 200 fits with 0 issues whatsoever. Period.

How wide is the rim?
If the thing has a 5.5" on it stock-which is what I assume it has if it comes with a 180, then yeah...you put too big of a tire on it. What you'll likely end up with is a contact patch that's actually smaller than what you had previous, and the tire will be taller than what it would be if mounted on the right sized rim. How will it adversely effect your handling? If you're not tearing up the canyons,(which you're prolly not) you might not notice much.
It'll increase your final drive ratio because it's taller, so you might notice your speedo being off, and also a little bit lower rpm's for any given speed. As I wrote, your smaller contact patch means less rubber on the road, so you might wear the thing out sooner than normal, because the weight isn't being spread out in as wide of an area as it should be. But as I also wrote, if you're not gonna spend a lot of the time on the side of the tire(which you would be if you were Wayne Rainey on it in the canyons), I don't see the smaller contact patch being a huge concern.

I took it as kidding; but with him, who knows. Cool, so for you, no noticeable handling difference? Have you had them long enough to determine if they are wearing any differently than the 180's (probably no way to tell if the 180's are Dunlaps and the 200 are not; i.e. could just be difference in tires, not tire size). Thanks for the input.
