Default Shocks Ohlins, Arnott, which ones for Dyna????

I am after some new shocks and wondering if anyone has fitted either the Ohlin D219 shock or the Arnott air shock system on their Dyna?
Both are around the same price.
I am really after better high speed handling and a bit more comfort in the bumps.
Any comments welcome.

Lee....can you run those shocks so the reservoir is on the opposite side? Wouldn't it interfere with saddlebags if you had a set on there the way the shocks sit now?

Yeah I have been in touch with Ohlins and I will have to run easy brackets on my bags to give enough room for the Ohlins gas resovoir.
Thanks for ya help.

I have seen a pic on this forum where Mud has a set of Ohlins with the resovoir towards the front on his superglide and he says no difference.
So Ohlins shocks here I come.

The subject of shocks has also been aired in the Touring forum and Ohlins have been given the thumbs up. I suggest you study the Motorcycle Metal website (a HDF sponsor), where you will find more info on Ohlins and, by all accounts, possibly a discount. Howard of MM will supply Ohlins built to suit your personal requirements.

If you want to improve handling can I also suggest you consider a stabilizer kit, such as True-Track (another HDF sponsor)? I have fitted one to my Dyna and it has tightened it up a treat. It stabilizes front and rear engine rubbers and removes lateral movement. I also have a TT kit on my dresser, which is also transformed.

Finally, try better tyres! I swear by Avons. You won't get the same mileages as from some other brands, but grip and ride quality is about as good as we can get.

Any one of these will give you improvements, but all three will give you a new bike!

Ohlins are magic.... When it's time to replace mine on my Wide Glide, there's no question that I'll pay for the Ohlins. Had them on my BMW, the difference from stock was literally night and day. Supple, yet would still soak up the big bumps. Handling was much improved over stock.
