I got about 7,000 miles out of the stock tire. But I didn't check my tire pressure as often as I should.

Approaching 8000 miles on both front and rear. Front is still looking good, but the rear will probably need to be replaced in less than 1000 miles or so. I check pressure weekly, but I ride on some rough pavement and unpaved roads. About 75% of my riding is solo.

Tire pressure is a factor and you should keep it checked. But that definitely wasn't the factor for me as I always keep mine checked and still didn't get the mileage out of the stock tires some others do. I think it's more the roads and the weight on the rear of the bike and maybe some riding style thrown in. I weighed between 240 and 250 during the entire time I was riding on my stock tire and, as I said, the roads for the most part around here, are pretty rough. Fortunately I weigh considerably less now but the roads are still the same. I have about 3k on my SE 180 and still have plenty of tread left to ride but there is also a noticeable amount gone. I'll be surprised if I get anymore than 6k or so out of this tire. I'll still be replacing it with one just like it. I really like the way this tire looks and rides. It's soft so it's nice and sticky and fun to ride on. But that also makes it wear quicker.

I get about 8,000 miles on my SE 180 rear. I am on my 3rd one. I am considering changing the rear wheel to a 18 5.5 rim so that I run a different brand 180.

I went with the Pirelli night dragon, in a 180/60/17, the SE180 is also (from what I have heard). I would STAY AWAY from the dunlap D407 (170/60/17) this is the tire that came stock on my bike and I replaced it every 6000 miles (it was properly inflated always).

I got about 6000 miles out of the OEM Dunlop. I changed over to an Avon Storm.

I paid $150 at Cycle Gear. A much better tire.

I changed the F & R on my WG @ 13,200. I put ~4500 of those miles on, and the p/o said that he had never put tires on it. They were the stock Dunlops and I could have probably gotten another 1000 or so miles out of them, but why push it? Plus, I got a great deal on the Michelin Commanders I went with.
