I am due for a new rear tire on my crossbones.I am not changing tire size just need a new one.Should I stick with the stock tire or are there better options out there. What does everybody think.
I just put an Avon Cobra on mine, a 200/17 seems ok I had a D407 on it from the factory, I'll know better after the weekend, just getting going around here
I went back with the Dunlop. Mine only lasted 5000 miles, and the Avon, Metzeler and Pirelli are made with even softer compounds, probably wouldn't last 3500 miles for me.
I have the Avon Cobra and it an excellent tire, you'll like it over the stock Dunlop. As for wear, mine has been holding out quite well, I put it on last spring and it still has plenty of tread.
I replaced my stock rear at a little over 14k on it. I went simple and got the stock put back on. It's never caused me issues that would make me want to change it. I was thinking about the comander II myself though.
Put new tires on shortly after getting bike.
I'm at 8k my front looks new.
The back is virtually smooth in the center barely see an outline of where tread was.
Never a burn out but 1/3 of those miles probably two up.
