I wave when I am on the bike, I also wave to other Jeeps while I am in mine..Jeep thing..

I don't know what the big deal is about the dual headlights. The Road Glide has dual. I don't think people question that they are waving to a Harley. Check out this old poster with duals.

Heck many Dyna owners have gotten comments about their "nice sportster".
Happened to me just today. A guy asked what year my "Sportster" was....I had to procede to tell him it was an '03 "Wide Glide".
