Heck many Dyna owners have gotten comments about their "nice sportster".
'Yep, she's a runner! I've customized every inch of her since I bought it last year 'cept for the front end, the shocks and my footpegs there. She started out really nice but she feels like a completely different bike now. So, yeah, I've got a sportster in the garage without a front-end if you're interested in buying one.'
I'll always wave back to anyone, doesn't matter to me what you're riding.
What I've found though is kinda funny. I live in MA right on the border to CT so I do plenty of riding in both states but mostly in CT. What I've found is that nearly everyone in MA will wave at you, in CT though no one waves. So judging by this thread I can assume that CT riders are either quite a bit more careful than those in MA or that they're just rather unpleasant. I'm gonna go with the latter. Wave or not, either way is fine with me.
I actually like that the twin headlights confuse the "Harley Dudes" as they try and decide whether they're gonna wave or not. If someone is going to acknowledge me based on their approval of what I ride, I'd rather they didn't. Besides, I'm tired of waving, so eff 'em!
Well I happen to think the Fat Bob is the best looking stock bike that HD offers. Rode one at demo days this past summer and really liked the way it rode, instead of waving I just drooled.
Yeah I wave too. I ride with a buddy who rides a sportster. Sometimes I get paranoid the Harley riders are wavin at him and not me because of my headlight. Nahh... when the wife and I go out they wave at me... maybe they wave at her... or her headlights. Lol
I wave to everyone (except scooter, they arnt in the same club.....bastards, even if they have barbell mustaches and biker leathers) , sometimes, when I used to ride a Honda the HD guys diddnt wave, course then again I live in Detroit and when I drive my VW I get cussed out at stop lights for being un-american...........I bought it used, so VW diddnt see a dime, yeah there is the argument about buying part, but um...then again from 60k to 110k all I bought for it was brake pads sorry for the semi-hijack XD
I normally just nod - the wave thing isn't the same over here. We ride on the other side of the road, so if you lift the nearest hand to wave at an oncoming rider....it's your throttle hand. So it's normally just a nod of the head.
So I acknowledge everyone on 2 wheels, even scooters - the Mods & Rocker thing is over. Last weekend at the Ace Cafe Brighton Burn up, Brighton sea front was rammed solid with bikes & scooters everyone having a great time - in the 60's they were beating the heck out of each other (if you've seen Quadraphenia, that's where it was filmed).
Anyway back to the thread, I'm rambling again, I don't notice if others don't bother to acknowledge me I'm to busy grinning and having a good time. Fat Bob & me.
