Default progressive shocks too low

the previous owner installed a set of progressive shocks on my bike and it sits too low for me. even with the springs adjusted to the highest tension it will still rub the tire with me and the wife on it sometimes.

i think they are the 11" versions. thats the measurements from eye to eye.

how much higher would a set of stock shocks be? i need to do something to bring the back end up a little

According to Progressive's website, the stock shock length for '93-'07 FXDWG's is 12 5/8". 11.5" shocks or shorter require fender modification.

well, my tire has been scrubbed by the fender bolts. i guess thats is part of the modification that didnt happen with mine.

how much will the height increase going from an 11" to a 12" shock? around 1" i assume????

My 09 FXDC had 12-5/8" but the low rider and fatbobs had 12", I believe all '10 models have 12" shocks

I too have a set of 11" 412's, came straight from the manufacture, went straight onto bike, rode (3) days and took them off.
I just had to see what the fuss was, and how everyone loves them so much.
I really did like the extra feel of the road, and it felt like the rear tire had perhaps a little more contact with the road.
But I'm 6'2" and have a 21" on front, It just felt tooo raked, No bottom out or any problems. I just felt like I was always going up hill. Always needed to straighten my self in the saddle, Always leaning forwords to hang on to the bars.)
Said all that just to say I like the 12" stockers better, its a more relaxed riding position for me.
I would like to try progressives 11½" or perhaphs the ones that MUD has (dont remember the name, starts with an O or maybe an A?). But for now I'm good..
