Dyna speedo relocate done !

Thanks and help with Dyna Speedo relocation
First of all, I want to thank many of the members on here for their posts regarding relocating the Speedo, T-bars on Dynas, etc.
I bought my first bike, a used 2006 FXDI that was basically stock. This past spring, a buddy of mine and I went about rebuilding it. We made and put news fenders on it, and a set of Illusion T-Bars. The T-bars forced relocating the Speedo and Ignition to the dash on a different fuel tank, and I wanted to keep the original speedo and idiot lights, (partially due to some of the horror stories I read on this forum).
I bought off craigslist a used tank, believed to be off a 2005 wide glide (but never confirmed), used dash, and extended all the wires, but used the same fuel pump and other guts form the original FXD. I bought off craigslist a set of caps, one illuminated LED cap, believed to also be off a older model wideglide.
The LED gas cap seems to work correctly. However, the idiot light for gas stays on at all time, even with a full tank. It seems like ti might go out when the tank gets low on fuel, but I dont have enough evidence of that to confirm that.
Also, the engine light, which comes on when you push the hand control switch to RUN, now comes on intermittently.
My questions is this: Does anyone have any experience with the LED fuel gauge working correctly, but the idiot light for fuel staying on all the time?
Would lengthening the wires be a possible cause of this?
I will likely post this in several threads I referenced to build the bike and try to post a pic of my bike in this post as well. Many of you had an influence on this bike ( Ok I have no clue how to post a icture on here..sorry wish you all could see the rebuild)
