Default Best bike for a big guy?

Posting for a friend-- My buddy is 6'4 245. Is the new wide glide a big enough bike for him? He feels comfortable but is wondering if people will think he looks too big on it. Another buddy keeps telling hime that touring bikes are the only way to go for him. Thanks for the help.

I'm about the same profile 6'4" 270lbs. Don't matter what we ride. Still looks like a gorilla on a tricycle at the circus. I ride a 07 wide glide with forward extensions on the controls. And I'm comfortable. To hell with what you look like it's the ride that you want......

I think he will be fine, he can always extend the forward controls in the future if he so desired. I'm 6'1" and 225lbs.

The wide glide was the only bike I felt fit me. 6' 6"/245lbs.
I did the 3" forward control extensions too.

I know the wide glide would be better than any of the softails, leg room that is

I recommend the Wide Glide too. If he needs more room he can add some apes, that'll stretch him out pretty well. Other than that, I'd say a road king or most any touring bike. JMO

Probually be best for him to go the the dealer and test ride a few bikes and see for himself what feels good.

I'm 6'6"and I feel that a dyna with forwards offers more leg room than the touring bikes.

6'7'' and I'm up to 275lbs now and I ride a Street Bob with 3" forwards. Plenty of room for me and I don't really care what I look like while riding it.

I don't think the Softails or baggers are any bigger really, more stuff on the baggers I guess to make it look bigger. They all got the same engine basically, minor differences. I haven't looked at the specs but there can't be more than an inch or two difference in the Dyna's vs. the Softails. FWIW, I am pushing 300 lbs and I ride a Dyna. Feels fine to me and like others have said, I really don't care what I look like.
