I just got off the phone with FuelMotoUSA. PCIII should be here in 3-5 days, with FM's 2 year extended warranty, he put a map on it although I will be having mine dyno'd. He said it was a newer one with latest features as all their PC's are only a couple weeks old. All that for $269 plus $12 shipping equals $281 to my door. Not bad.
I just got mine put on Tuesday. I had them over night it. It took quite awhile to get it installed because I couldnt figure out how to get it under the seat.
I eventually slid it under the ECM and attempted to zip tie it but they are old so they didnt hold. It is in there well and isnt coming out but I fear that the buttons maybe pushed however it appears that all three have to be pushed at the same time.
It does run a heck of a lot better. Seems to run cooler as well. Well maybe someday I can find the cash to get it dyno tuned. Also though it would take awhile to get the cord to plug in. I have thought about plugging the cord in and leaving under the seat but not sure on how good that would be.
Ive just recieved my pc111 from fuel moto, shipped to the uk, got stung by customs though! still £90 cheaper than buying it from uk dealer.
Fitted it yesterday (not much room to play with under the seat), fitting se11s and k&n today, then its out to play!
rde - I'm getting mine done at my dealer in Rocky Mount. They seem to be competent. What were your hp/torque numbers after Ray Price? I might let them do it if they did you right? I'll PM you.
Can you tell me why you went with a PC III over something like the TFI or DPO? I do not plan on many mods except Stage 1, so I was just going to go with a TFI. Can you tell me the difference? Do you think it is smarter to go with the PC III?
1st - the pc's seem to almost be the standard, I don't usually go with the standard or most popular option, but in this case it seems there are more shops, dealers, dyno's, parts, and upgrades that speak the powercommander language. To me the PCIII is to motorcycle performance as English is to the business world. It's the best way to judge and compare in my opinion.
2nd - there are a lot of people out there with PC's on their Jixxer's and ZX10's, etc. If this product can improve a highly developed product like an inline 4 that turns 16,000 rpm's, I trust it to improve my 1450cc Harley V-twin.
3rd - the PC will go great with future engine mods like a 95, 98, or 103 inch kit.
Once you factor in the fact that my dealer claims to be fast and top notch with dynoing a power commander making the end cost less than with a different tuning unit. Plus my PC just arrived today, to my door with an extra years worth of warranty for $281, and there's already a map on it if I need it.
