Default installing stock shocks from progressives

i bought a set of stock 12" shocks to replace my 11" progressives. i pulled both the lowering shocks off and tried to install the stockers but i cant get the bike high enough for the shock to line up. is there something i'm overlooking when doing this?

just unbolt the 11's and lift the bike and slide on the 12's........right?

You got to unbolt BOTH shocks before you can raise up the bike. Wait, I see you did that. Its should go up and the swingarm should go down.

QuickSilver, you should be able to put a floor jack under the frame, behind the oil/trans pan and jack the bike up high enough for the holes to line up. If you don't have a good wheel chock, have someone sit on it to hold the bike upright.

Probably have to get them directly from Progressive. If you are heavy, and ride two up a lot, I don't think just changing the springs is going to do the trick. I orginally bought the 11" HD's for my bike. On the stock setting, which I believe is the softest I bottomed pretty bad with just me on the bike. I wasn't bottoming out with the top of the fender, but the taillight/license plate bracket was bottoming out against the tire. I weighed around 200 at the time. I could have adjusted them up, but as rough as it rode with them on the stock setting, I decided to just sale them and buy a set of 12" ones.

I know a lot of guys are running the 11" HD's on the newer Dynas with no trouble. Maybe the newer bikes have more clearance, and ofcourse some of them like the SG and SB don't have the taillight/lic plate bracket bolted into the back of the fender. I did notice too that my bike looked even lower than some of the other Dynas I had seen with 11" shocks. That MFer was slammed. It looked sweet, but rode like a hardtail, and bottomed out against that bracket as I said.

This is what it looked like with the 11" HD's
