Default Dyna: Samson or V&H slip-ons?

I have a 09' FXD Dyna SG and want to install slip-ons on an otherwise stock bike. Anybody has these Samsons or V&Hs installed? Opinions on sound and other issues as poping, backfiring, performance, etc.? Thanks!

I have the V&H and I think they are great. There was a set for sale in the "Dyna Parts" section for 100$ !!! That's a great deal !

I just picked up some v&h for $130 delivered off ebay. The guy thew in the quite baffles in addition to the stock. Currently running the quite and love them, they are not quiet at all. I will probably put the stock baffles in this weekend and give them a go and then decide which ones I like better. Ultimately I want some v&h big shot staggerd but they were not in the budget, figure these should pacify me for a year or two. I was looking at the sampsons too but have not heard them in person so I can't help you there.

Ditto on the V&H. I've had mine for almost a year. Love the sound with the quiet baffles - which don't quiet them down much. The guy at V&H told me the quiet baffles drop the sound a few decibles and shift the torque curve lower in the rpm range. I tried it with the standard baffles and didn't like it - too tinny sounding IMO.

I've got the V&H and have been using them for almost a year now. No problems and the sound is great with the standard baffles. NO I did not need to do any remapping. I spoke to an Indy and told me if you don't get any back fire or popping you'll be good to go.

I put in a pcV but only because I also did a stage 1 a/c. Otherwise I was told you don't have to for just pipes.

I'd say go with the V&H's.

Here's why.

I had V&H pro pipe on the dyna sounded great & boosted the HP & torque. I know it's a complete system and costly but it held up great over the years. May be a bit loud ie, setting off car alarms!!! He He .

I also have Samson Silver Bullets on my bagger. (I know not a dyna) But after a year had the inside weld broke and it rattled like crazy! These I bought used, so I had too drill a hole and tap a screw in but it did stop the rattle & the bags hide it. It has yellowed a bit & the chrome it weaker than V&H.

My 2 cents.

Just slip ons.... no remap needed. If you slip ons and a stage 1 a/c then you'll need to remap , or add a power commander, etc.

Many reports here of quality problems with Samsons, weak chrome, etc. V&H seem to be solid and if you like that sound... its music to some ears, irritating to others..

I like my Rush 2.0 slip-ons, very popular here. They did decel pop a little on my FatBob but was easily tuned out.
