Rear tire fit?
I have a 99 FXD. I currently have an Avon 140/90-16 and want to replace it with the same size tire. Will a Dunlop 140/90-16 fit. I know the numbers say it's the same size but I have been told it might not fit Does anybody run this tire or know if it will fit?

I have been told that the Avons run slightly wider than Dunlops. I know of several people that went to 140's with no problems. I went to a Metzeler 150 on my 99 wideglide but had to change the pulley and belt to fit it in.

I rode up to Ohio after the Horse Smoke Out bike rally in North Carolina. The next morning I looked at my back tire and it was down to the cords. I'm on leave from the Navy and wasn't counting on having to change a tire. I called around and the only place that could get me the 140 in an Avon wanted its weight in gold for the tire. A local tire dealer had the Dunlop in a 140 for $80. I just hope the thing fits and rides good.
