Thanks very much for the replies so far guys. I'm keeping an open mind at the moment and what I'll do is take a run over to an independent Harley guy I've just learned about, he's about 30 miles from here. He sells lots of aftermarket stuff and although I've never been before I'm told he's very helpful, so I'm sure he'll let me hold a few sets of bars against the bike which will give me a better idea of whats going to suit. At the moment though I'm thinking maybe something like what Murphdog suggested, or maybe some Buckhorn type bars, which can be pulled back to a good position.

Regarding the easy pull clutch, and speaking from experience whilst looking around for my Dyna a few weeks back. I first off started looking at the Street Bob, sat on a few and as you do pulled the clutch in etc. Then I spotted a couple of older Dynas (including the 2004 one I eventually bought). I've got to say that the clutch WAS a lot lighter on the Bob than on the older bikes. I wasn't aware that the light clutch could be retro fitted to the older bikes. I may have a look into that, because this joint condition I have isn't going to get any better in the future. In fact before the present medication, when it first stated flaring up I actually packed in riding a couple of years ago - sold my bike even which was a Honda VFR back then. Took me almost 12 months to get back on a bike again.
