Now that I see how you treat one of your own who wants to make his bike comfortable for a long road ride, I would hat to see how you would treat a rider on a jap cruiser. Do me a favor and dont ever say you are on of those nice guys who says, "it doesn't matter what you ride, it is that you ride." You should be ashamed of yourselves.

Now just settle down there a little bit. We all were just having fun. You can obviously do whatever you want to your bike and we will still accept you as a rider. But please have a sense of humor. Most guys buy the bob because they can take stuff off it and make it a true bobber. I believe you are the first one that wanted to put a fairing on one.

The problem here is the forks. . You almost need to have inverted forks to mount a fairing to if it is going to be large enough to do any good. You are talking major mods here.
I still say get the touring windsheild and forward controls or highway bars. You could get the engine gaurd and mount covers on them that would reduce some wind from you.

In the end you will still have a bob and not a lowrider so I will make fun of you anyways.

After goin back and looking at this thread from the begining, I think someone may be trolling just a little. I could be totally wrong, just how I see it.

It could b a bit of trollin. I mean I went to a Gold wing site and told them I was going to strip a GW down and make a chpped up bobber out of it. I could have used all the spare parts to make a camper or something. They just banned me.

IF the guy is serious, I think this is an excellent idea. I saw a bike with this setup not too long ago. I have no idea where you get them, but it looked like some sort of heavy duty material (leather, vinyl ??) laced onto each side of the engine guard filling in the open space. At least there's not a bunch of extra weight added up front.

I figured he may actually be serious and I have noticed with my windshield the buffeting I do get comes from underneath.

Chopped and bobbed Gold Wings aren't as rare as you might imagine... they even have their own special website called "Naked Wings"..

Here, have a look for yourself.. http://www.nakedgoldwings.com/

Neighbor has an interesting wing, stripped down, great custom paint. It also has 3 straight drag looking pipes down the length of each side, they look pretty cool. They must be baffeled because they don't sound very loud at all. Overall kind of a neat look for a winger.
