Hey folks, as part of my winter projects I'm thinking about a chrome inner primary for the ride here.
Trying to figure out the specific different between the two part numbers here:
60792-06B
60794-06B
I'm thinking that the 794 is for bikes that may use mid shift controls, and maybe the 792 is for bikes with forward controls only, so may not have the hole/bosses for the shift lever pass-through... ?
Anybody that can confirm that for me, would be most helpful.

Reason: spelin
If you have the chrome plug in the outer (bike had originally came with mid controls) you are better off ordering the chrome inner for mids IMHO.
Thinking the inner for forwards may not have the shaft housing to mate with the outer's shaft housing which would cause a oil leak through the chrome outer plug where the mid control shaft once was. Hope this makes sense. I just did a chrome inner on my FXDC that originally had mids, now with forwards.
Yeah, I was think about that this morning. At first I thought it would be a problem.... then the mind went "hey, an opportunity for a custom widget to seal the hole"..... lol
With all the talk about IPB problems, the fix sees to be the newer inner primary case, the (B) at the end of the part#. If the newer chrome inner pimary your going to buy has the alignment dowells, wouldnt you have to change to the newer transmission case as wel to align everything? Or have I been missed informed?
If this is not nessarry then it would seem that the best way to go would be with a Baker IPB into the newer chrome case (cheaper than OEM). Save money and be done with the IPB problem once and for all.
Anyone with any thoughts on this?
edit: Archergodwin I just noticed your bike is an 08', so the alignment dowel thing is not an issue for you, sorry
Still if anyone has input on this thinking for the 06' problem, I would really like to hear your thoughts ...

The alignment dowels get removed to mount on the 06 models. If one wanted the alignment dowels to work on the 06 models they would need to change the transmission case or have them machined.
Adding the Baker IPB on install would be a good move for all 06 and up dynas really.
I just put a primary cover on that has no hole for the shifter with an inner that has the hole. I just used a freeze plug to seal the hole. Might look a little tacky on the outer though.

Thanks, Thats just what I thought.. Thx for input.

Yeah, no freeze plug on the outer one... lol. I'll design up some widget to mount in the hole, that has a gasket on the inside... should do the trick... if I go that way....
