Differences in chrome inner primary covers...

You could go with a stainless cariage bolt and polish the head and use a nut and washer with a gasket to seal the inside. I saw a thread a whaile back where someone did this to cover the hole.

Yup, something like that.. I may make up some sort of panel/sheet to insert in the depression where the inspection plate would be if it had one. Make it some contrasting color, and have a 'yet to be known' widget on the outside to receive the bolt coming through from the inside. Probably something related to ancient archery.... go figure

The chrome IPCases come with the standard IPB already installed; mine did when I went with the chrome case (60792-06B for DWG/Forwards) in May. Funny, the chrome IPCase is $299 and the stock black case is $399...donno if the black one comes with the IPB installed or not; my May invoice shows a double bearing listed as a separate item from the 60791-06B (black) case that HD sent in the parts kit for the warranty job on my IPB failure. If the Baker bearing is really better quality, it would be worth knocking out the perfectly good[?] HD IPB in favor of the Baker.
