Well i signed up and have been looking on hdforums.com for awhile now but this is my first post. I just bought a 06 fxdbi and have been taking things off of it instead of adding them. I recently took my front turn signals off the bike and was about to take the rears off when i noticed the indentation and large hole it would leave open, unlike the older bikes where there was a small hole that you could drop a bolt through. Is there anyone that makes a cap for the hole to make everything smooth, or what have you all done if you did this?
Well I can't tell you the part number but I know they make a cover for that cause my parts guy showed me one a couple weeks ago when i asked about removing mine. mojo

Take the mirrors off. They look like sheet.
I don't know why I said that.
Those are turning indicators that you removed.
You don't want the cages to know what you intend??
Just keep in mind while you are taking those indicators off that they are most likely required equipment for road use. Your local Law Enforcement might not be so understanding. Just an FYI.
H/D has a docking hardware kit (part #53961-06 $24.95) that has chrome covers for those holes. If you could get hold of the caps you could install them with chrome bolts instead of the turn signal studs that are in the kit.
Pro-trucker is right. There's a small cover piece included in that kit. It's a simple oval shaped steel part, with a mediocre chrome plating. It doesn't look like it would be too difficult to make aout of alum and then polish. You do need a bolt to go through there. A chrome or SS button head would look good.
