that is weird! the only reason that it would do that is if it was not cured fully or was being used close to the max operationg temp (like when heat shields are done) they will on occasion put off a white powdery look that can be wiped right off durring the first few rides... but that is not right on motor parts at all! your motor should not be CLOSE even remotely to that temp!
First, welcome to the forum.
Did you try to use some type of cleaner or wax product on the surfaces? How many miles do you have on the bike? It doesn't sound normal.
Thanks to all for the replies, I really appreciate it.
My ride is a 2006 with 6900 miles on it. It runs and rides great, but the discoloration, although slight, is a bit of an eyesore. I am positive that the previous owner kept it outside.
I haven't put much work into cleaning the discoloration off , yet. I will see how the S100 works.
Have you had a chance to use the s100 to clean up your powder coat? I'm just wondering how it did for you and if you have any before / after pictures. I have the same thing with my 02 Fatty I bought used.

I did have a chance to use it. The S100 is a fantastic product. I used it a few weeks ago and it did wonders. The stuff is awesome.
First wash the thing with simple green or Shout! laundry stain remover. Wet the engine. Spray the cleaner on the engine, use a soft bristle brush to get to all the parts. Rinse it off thoroughly. Then hit it with s100 or pig spit.
