When i bought my pcV I didn't use any dieletric grease and just hung it behind the fuse panel and off I went. A couple weeks later I washed my bike (with ordinary garden hose) and the pcV got wet so the bike would not idle or even run that well. So I added grease, ziptied the unit with the black connector mouth down and all was well for a couple months. I had a seal changed under warranty this last week and when I picked up the bike they had washed it for me--- Wow right? Thank you very much, but they must have used a pressure wash on it because the bike would not idle any more. So today i take the pcV off and find like three tablespoons of water in and around the connector. Problem solved?, well temporarily maybe. The stock gray ecm cable that connects to the black connector of the pcV had three or four holes with corrosion building up inside the pin holes.
Do you all think I just got a bad pcV connector cable or should I expect to have to remove the thing every couple months for cleaning? JeeZZZ! fuel moto says this never happens!
Never had a issue with mine and I didnt use any dielectric grease.
Just wash with a hose but have road in some really heavy rains and never had a issue.
Had a PC lll on my quad and while the connections were different never had a issue with water with it either and played in the water and mud all the time with it.
