Like the Cheap Start. Looked at a few seats already, most NOT from HD. Also, have heard alot about the slip ons vice a new set of pipes at first. Louder and prouder I supposed!?
BTW, what is the big advantage of upgrading the air cleaner? And WHAT is a Power Commander V?
Sorry, but you should have known the stupid questions would start sooner or later!

All other mods feel free to ask and here are some links to get started on cheap mods or do it yourself. Also Ebay is my best friend!!!

The AC (Air Cleaner) is just like adding a air intake to your car or truck, but our bike computers don't compensate like cars, so that is where the PCV (power commander V) comes into play or any other FI module or the stage 1 works also. It will run lean and hot without the PCV if you have the AC. With slip ons you don't need to run the PCV. I have to 6500 miles and get 50mpg and runs strong with just slip ons. This winter I'm planning on doing the PCV and AC, but gotta get it buy the wife first.
Gotcha. Performance. I can see the advantage in the upgrades. Just don't want to upgrade for the sake of upgrading.
I'm past that time in my life when I try to keep up with everyone else just to stay one notch ahead of them! I see enough of the young sailors here on the ship trying to do that to each other.
I'll eventually figure out just exactly what I went and paid ALL that money for last week when I signed the financing paperwork!
Yeah, I saw the Hello Kitty backpack post. LMAO!
Oh, and I already HAVE my Swiss Army backpack, with my Macbook Pro in it, to ride with!
Nice choice in bikes, and welcome to the Dyna club.
Stage 1 is a good start.
But you may want to hold off on the other stuff until you ride a few miles and see what is really bugging you.
Seats are aggravating. What you like is not what the passenger will like, guaranteed. We're having a close look at the 'Butty Buddy' for the wife. Comes off fast when you don't need it.
I count my electric vest as one of my best upgrades, esp this time of year.
Wife likes the Scala Cardo Q2 Intercom unit we got last year. (I'm 50/50 on that one. The unit is great, but the benefit of the ability to communicate while riding is debateable. Wonderful sometimes, not so great sometimes.)
Maybe the best purchase is MC skills training.

Like the Cheap Start. Seat is almost a gimme. Slip Ons I guess I need to investigate. Been told to make the bike HEARD on the road.
Ok, Stupid Questions Time (and a Submariner telling a Brown Shoe what to do! :\ ) What is the advantage of upgrading the air cleaner? And, what is a Power Commander V?
Will take a look at the Cheap Mods links to get an idea of what's out there to do.
Thanks.
Just more power for the AC and the PCV (power commander V) is to manage the air/fuel mixture because our bike computers don't pick up on the change and adjust accordingly. The PCV is loaded with a MAP to run the bike where it suppose to because once you get AC and full pipes you'll get popping on decel rough idle and who knows what else and the PCV is suppose to fix all that. Then if you do more like cams, big bore or any other mods you can upload a different MAP to the PCV and get max power, or have a custom tune on a Dyno. Depends on what your intentions are. Since you are new to the bike I would start off with the seat and slip ons then once you're use the bike and comfortable then do the more. My wife doesn't ride so I don't need to worry about a seat. As for a submariner telling a brown shoe what to do, who care as long as we're keeping the shinny side up!!

I missed this post!! Yea I'm not in a hurry to get my bike fast. I've done some things to my bike to make more convenient for the everyday ride. But I can't have a quite Harley so I did slip ons!! Next is Different apes and a C&C seat. Look at my album and you'll see the different things I've done!
welcome to the club bud. I have the same bike. What color are you getting? Mine is the matte black. First thing I did was some appearance stuff. First performance was to yank the baffles. Not really a good performance mod perse, but it sounds like a harley should. Next is a stage 1 when I get the cheese for a Power commander. Then I think I might get the pipes and heat shields powdercoated matte black. I have a backrest on the way. (Wife told me to)
