Thanks.
I hope it's worth it. Sat on one in Honolulu last week, and initially got a WTF Did I Do chill down my back when I realized how big it seems. BUT after I sat on it, I realized it was all just in my head. the more I think about the more anxious I get.

Have the Basic Rider Class scheduled the last week of November already. Was free to get thru the base Safey Office here. So when I get back to Florida I can get my endorsemsnt. I'm in San Diego right now with the Navy until I leave for retirement in about 49 days.

Will get use to the bike first, then get the wife on back and see just how comforable / uncomfortable she is before proceedign with the seat upgrade.

And the AC seems to be a top potential for gettign done soon.

I'm so far behign the curve its laughable.
No helmets yet.
No jackets yet.
No gloves yet.
Sorta talked to the wife about the helmet to hemet system. Sounds like a good idea.

So much to think about and do. So much fun as well.

Thanks.

Nice choice in bikes, and welcome to the Dyna club.
Stage 1 is a good start.
But you may want to hold off on the other stuff until you ride a few miles and see what is really bugging you.
Seats are aggravating. What you like is not what the passenger will like, guaranteed. We're having a close look at the 'Butty Buddy' for the wife. Comes off fast when you don't need it.
I count my electric vest as one of my best upgrades, esp this time of year.
Wife likes the Scala Cardo Q2 Intercom unit we got last year. (I'm 50/50 on that one. The unit is great, but the benefit of the ability to communicate while riding is debateable. Wonderful sometimes, not so great sometimes.)

Maybe the best purchase is MC skills training.

I am not sure how many rider training classes you guys have over there but I seriously suggest doing that first class and if available a few more once you get a bit of ride time in.
We have several beginner, intermediate and advanced classes here dealing with different training. I suggest doing them all, for the price, one little thing learned could save your life!
Good luck with your new bike, you will love it
Cheers

Well the Fat Bob's seat for you is actually pretty comfortable but as many will say the passenger's often disagree.

First step depends on what you want Chief..

Power/Acceleration: new pipes, air cleaner, tuner
Sound: slip ons for the pipes.
Looks: dechrome it or chrome the crap out of it. You're already getting laid since you're married (ok well maybe not) but you're not trying to pull some bar chick with the sparkle stuff...

First upgrade I would do is grips. The stock grips make your hands sore fast. Get a nice iso grip and throttle boss by Kuryakyn. Once you get those, make your wife happy like everybody else says.

If funds are limited, don't do anything until you've racked a bunch of miles up. Then you'll know what bugs you the most and procede from there.

1st upgrade should be a service manual. Get the bike then move from there.

Plus 1 on the manual. It will save you money!!!

Being a new rider, I would hold off on the performance mods. You will be very satisfied with the power you have just purchased. Down the road you may find that you frequently roll the throttle all the way and want more. I'm sure it will be a while before you get there.

Like others have said, ride on. You may find you want a windshield or bags to get the most use out of the ride. It won't take you long before YOU can make up this list yourself.

Enjoy!

Rick

This is what I like about this forum - lots of differing opinions and it's all good advice.
I just do not want to go out and waste a bunch of money for stuff I'm not gonna need. Thus I figured I'd ask the 'experts' first.
So many toys to get for the new toy!
