Default First service and the use of synthetic
Hey gang, I will be getting my 2010 WG serviced for the first time this weekend and wanted to put synthetic in it but the stealer said I would have to wait until the 5,000 mile service. Is that true and if so why? thanks,

i went to synthetic 20w 50 at 1000 miles the dealer gave me a choice

My dealer said that it was OK to switch at 1000 mi

just had the 1000 mile service done on my sg, dealer said synthetic was fine.

No, that is bullchit. I put syn3 in my bike at 100 miles. All the CVO bikes come with Syn3 at the factory. All S&S motors come with Mobil1Vtwin in them new.

I concur. Switched to synthetic at my 1k service, no problem.

Dropped AMS in 3 holes at 1000 miles....all is fine.
Just changed it (motor only) again at 5000......still fine.....
Not a spec of anything on the magnetic drain plug.
