Windshield/Headlight question

I've got a mostly stock FXD, previous owner added the harley quick disconnect windshield. 1st time I rode in the dark, I got lots of back glare with lowbeam and heavy (like impossible to see) glare with high beams on.
The headlight is 2 inches or so behind the shield, so I'm thinking I need to move it forward of the shield. Right ? Or something better to do.......

That might work. Or get a different type of shield or a different kind of headlight. My QD shield fit just fine over my Cobra headlight and the light sticks out well in front of the shield. I now have a windvest shield though - don't use the QD anymore.

you can get a frenched in bezel for the lamp and that will take care of the issue and the headlight will loook better anyway, they are like 15 bucks at harley in the universal accessory section

I made a headlight mounting bracket out of aluminum bar stock that moves the headlight out in front of the windshield. Looks a lot better with the headlight out front (IMHO) and i get no glare.
