Default primary oil leak...HELP

So after I put the forwards on myself...I did take off the whole primary.... I have this small oil leak..go figure. In the picture it looks as if its coming right near the drain plug where the gasket is..but I just dont get why its leaking? Dont know if I had a bad gasket with my order or if somehow I placed in on wrong..if thats possible. Once the job was done, I had nothing left over and everything was tightened down good. Any ideas would be helpful. Also its only leaking after I shut down the bike after a ride..not while just sitting there looking good. I plan on getting a new gasket next couple days, we'll see if that works. Thanks

If the oil isnt coming from the backside of the inner primary cover and running down, then I'd say the cover gasket moved when you put the outer cover on. Did you torque it down in the proper sequence? (If its kinked, you might get away with re-seating it. If godzilla showed up, you're buying a new gasket.)

If it is run-down, did you replace the input shaft seal, the starter O-ring, and the 5 sealing screws? Any one of those can send you to the nut house on an early retirement

I beleive KK just nailed that for you. Mine was just in a month ago for the inner primary bearing seal. It would only leak while riding of course because otherwise the oil just sits at the bottom of the primary. It looks like you'll be doing some back tracking on your project I'm sorry to say.

thanks for the info. Just sucks because taking off that primary was a sure way to consider suicide. But I know HD is gonna steal my bank account if I let them figure it out for me. Thanks again
