Don't know if it helps, but my Ultra was doing the same/similar thing.
Changed fob battery, thought it was fixed, but nope..
Tested and diagnosed as a bad starter. Intermittent fail.
Actual cause turned out to be loose starter bolts.

Turn your ig sw. on and quickly hold both turn signals. when the combo starts flashing. enter the number with the left turn sig by repeatedly pressing until the number is right, press left turn sig to enter and move the digit.. after all 5 nums. the sec. is de-activated temporarily until the ignition is switched off again.

Update
I was out all day yesterday -I Changed fob battery and never had a problem yesterday The bike started every time I still dont feel comfortable that it was just a battery
