Default Black pearl any thoughts?

Any opinions/facts about black pearl paint would be greatly appreciated. Trying to get info from people who have experience with it. I know I'm already tired of taking care of my vivid black, and was wondering if black pearl is easier to care for and if it shows swirls and scratches like the vivid. Thanks again!

Also, I have a local body shop that will paint my tank, fenders, side covers black pearl, take apart and put back together for $800. Does this seem like a good price? Thanks!

my bike was black pearl... Went to black. Black pearl looks beautiful in the sun. Very plain in the dark/shade. You will not see the surface scratches as easily in the black pearl. IMHO keep the vivid black. www.zainostore.com ... purchase their Z5 and after a couple applications, you wont be complaining about swirl marks/scratches again.

thanks, rounder. appreciate the info. I love the vivid and the way the chrome pops on my bike, but it is a pain. My previous bike was silver metallic. I could have wiped it with a brillo pad and you wouldn't see a scratch!! Ha ha!

no problem, believe me the black pearl looks so dull in the dark, You would kick yourself for loosing the beauty of vivid black.

Rounder, do you have experience with this product? Is it as good as it claims to be?

If you are going to paint your bike you should definetely go with a two-tone look. Why change from vivid black to pearl? You will not be happy with the decision and your bike will look dull and boring.

I would go for the black pearl! It does look dull grey at night, but in the sunlight it really pops! I get a lot of compliments on it too!

Brunettes, Blondes or redheads? It’s all a matter of taste. I have black pearl on my 09 Lowrider and had it in two tone on my previous Ultra. I prefer it over vivid black both practically and esthetically. The pearl is much more forgiving and I “believe” the pearl has a clear coat that the factory vivid does not have which gives you another layer of protection.

So my choices are brunettes and pearls. Or brunettes with pearls.
