Default Repositioning speedo. Ideas?

Before the wiseguys start in, no I'm not pulling my bathing suit out of somewhere it shouldn't be.

I've just had Buffalo 5.5 inch risers installed on my 2005 FDXCi. I stayed with the stock bars (my preference) but now the speedometer is sitting up there on top of the handlebar clamp, looking a little bizarre in my opinion. Would like to relocate it somewhere to clean up the clutter. Ideas? Thanks in advance.

if you get a sportster mount you can put it on the underside of the risers...would clean it up nicely

I know it's only a TV show, but have you seen the speedo locations on some of the Dynas on SOA? You ain't close to being bizarre.

Search this Dyna section using "speedo relocation" as a key and you'll find lots of options

I want to get the speedo and tack off my bars. I hate the look. I'm thinking of replacing my tank with the Dyna Low tank. The speedo and tack are in the console.

can you switch the right and left risers, then turn the speedo 180 degrees... mounting it upside down towards the tank?

the angle may be off a little but if it doesnt hit the tank, it might be a quick fix ...

yeah this mount instead of the buffalo risers will put your bars in the same location. Gotta buy the whole thing though. About 200 bucks for the setup. Plus the cost of the risers you just bought. Second option would be to go back to the stock risers and just get a mini ape like what is on the street bob. Hands will be in almost the same location. Mini ape is about 50 bucks.

I've been kicking this problem around for a while now. Tried 4 different setups, and I'm still not totally satisfied. This isn't the best picture (not taken for purpose of illustrating this), but I got this idea from bberck here -- Accutronix makes a bracket that clamps to the risers, and has mounting points that correspond to a speedo bracket that HD sells (it's in the big book, I could get you the part number if you like). This way, you can mount the speedo lower than the bars themselves, on the risers. Note, I'm not 100% certain they will work with all riser setups. The clamp went nicely onto the HD bars that I am using. When you are sitting on the bike, the speedo is just the right height to see it, but not so high it's ugly or obtrusive.

I actually plan to modify this to use the double bracket and include a tach, and actually have that bracket modified at a machine shop to add additional smaller gauges on each side (oil pressure and temp, clock and thermometer). That will then be powder coated. Winter project.

another nice setup as well.... Thing about this setup is it is about the same cost for the bracket and gauge mount as doing the sportster setup above.
