My speedo is stuck on 15 mph (at rest). How do I get at the needle to move it to "0" ? It works, but I have to subtract 15mph to know how fast I am going. The gauge is on gas tank center dash. Speedo only with ignition switch, no tach.
hell man you can do it in your driveway, just do a search for diagnostic codes, it will walk you right through it, if you can not find it hit me up tomorrow and i will send you a step by step how to
Hi Joe, can't find anything about diagnostics, not even in my Clymer book. I tried the magnet , but it returns to 15mph every time. I was thinking about a new speedo , the one that has a tach and temp.... but does that need odometer to be set by HD? By looking at instruction pdf, it seems I can set odo. myself.
Check their problem finding diagnostic. To reset the odometer to what you had you need something to do it with. Harley would have done it on purchase if you gave them your mileage.

Could be the speedo sensor has to be cleaned. On my FXD2003 it is situated r/h side on the transmission housing.
Had a hitch in the odometer last year, took off the sensor and cleanded it with a rag.... problem solved!
Hi guys, I tried the diagnostic but it doesn't work on my bike. Its a 97, maybe that old of a bike doesn't have it. I cleaned speed sensor, it was dirty and a small amount of metal filings were on it. I'll see what happens next time I take it out. But I don't have much faith in it.
