So you think everybody at the race track runs low compression? Dude go pull your head out of your azz.

You really should do some reading about internal combustion engines.

Default Octane?

I have an 07 street bob and have been running premium fuel as per the manual. Iv been told by numerous harley riders they dont run premium and prefere regular as they dont notice any difference with the premium. Iv always ran the premium fuel but wonder if I should try reg. just to see if there is any difference.

Is it really worth the 30 to 40 cents you will save per tankful?

Well, I have tried both and I have to say that my bike runs better on regular.....87 octane. It knocked and pinged with the premium. My brother-in-law runs only premium in his EG and won't run anything else and his bike runs fine. I still haven't figured out if it is just me or I got some bad premium once or what. Until I notice otherwise...I'm going with the regular.

More than grade...I try to find a station that doesn't use ethanol. But even when I go to that one station by my house that doesn't add 10% Ethanol, I do use premium. I spent enough on my bike I figure it might as well get the better juice.

On anything that you don't run everyday fuel with ethanol in it is horrible.
