Default High octane

I put 1 1/2 gal of 105 unleaded that has no ethanol in Bob yesterday, I don't know what that breaks down to(filled tank with 93 right after), but that's a fine mix, the performance gain was superb and if I could afford it I would run it all the time, really worked great, but at $9 a gallon I don't see that happening more than once a month

I broke down the money math when I fill up my FLHRCI 93 octane then i put in marine stabil that takes out the ethanol and put in a octane boost. its about 100 octane and comes out to be about 4.12 a gal. My Hi-comp. Bobber loves the Sunoco 100 octane w/lead @9.49 a gal.

I'm running 10.25:1 compression in my TC WideGlide and it runs just fine with BP 92 octane gas (the good stuff, not the blended crap)..

Friend of mine is running 10.5:1 compression in his Softail and his bike runs fine using the same 92 octane gas.

Guess if I was running at the track and needed every available ounce of power I would spend the extra money for additives or higher octane 'racing fuel', but for normal cruising down the road I don't see much point in it..

I agree its not worth the money for daily riding, but the performance was fun.

most of us angler/boat people (friends of mine anyway) use walmart brand stabil in the belief that the marine is the same stuff just higher priced because it says "marine". Its a lot cheaper than what you find at BW or west Marine, and works just as well. JMFUO

I live in Cali, and can only get 91 octane pump gas. Between the 2 softails I had, and the Ultra I ride now...I've got about 30,000+ miles on my scoots adding STP Octane Booster (The stuff that says "Barley Street Legal" on the red bottle. I use the stuff every fill up. Just pour a "little bit" in when I fill up with 91. There has been never so much as a small problem on any of the 3 engines I've ran it in (stock piston, cams..etc). It really is good stuff...and I pay $2.95 a bottle & that lasts about 3 or 4 fill ups.

Sure, Marine stabil w/Ethanol treatment will not lower your octane. It's in the Bikers Choice catalog. Your aftermarket dealer should have some or be able to order it for you. It will NOT affect the F.I. I've used it for a long time in my FL & Busa.

It's not the same. Marine Stabil w/Ethanol treatment is different. It costs me a dollar more as Reg.Stabil.
