I put SE competition fork oil in at 1000 miles. Now it's stiff as a rock and I can mash on the front brake and no nose dive. BUT, it rides like a truck over bumps......it's a trade off but I like the stiff front end. The factory oil os too spongy. IMO.

Mine isn't new, but is pretty soft also. I wish there was an oil between the Competition and regular.
Maybe there is, I haven't looked yet.

Mine feels way too soft, front and back. Doesn't take much to bottom it out. I do weigh over 250lbs so that invariably is part of the problem. Wanna do a progressive spring kit for the front and new shocks in the rear.

I weigh 180 and I like the way mine feels. I have no problems with cornering and have hit some mean potholes and train tracks and have never bottomed it out.

If I want a rough ride I'll buy a Ford truck.

I like the ride too, just hate the way the front end dives and wallows when you hit the front brake. I'm gonna change to heaver oil or better springs.

Good Luck

I suggest trying the screaming eagle oil (not the race), this will take the sloppiness out of your forks without becoming too stiff.

Common problem I guess. Mine is the same way. It rides like a sofa down the road, but I don't like nose dive. Then again, I don'y want it to be rock hard.

Unfortunatly, finding aftermarket upgrade parts is a little tough. Gold Valves would be the best, but I don't think they are available yet. I'v heard a rumor that V-Rod parts will fit, but havn't been able to confirm. I tried contacting Race Tech a number of times without success.

Pretty soon I'm going to try some Bel-Ray 20W and see what that does.
