I have decided to replace my existing exhaust with V/H straight shots but I do not know if I should get the originals or the HS. I know there is an optional so called 'quiet" baffle on the HS as an option.
any help on why I should get one or the other would be appreciated.
I had straightshots before the big radius, never really liked the sound of them, a bit high pitched. Wish I had saved the money and bought the BR first.
If quiet is what you are looking for, then certainly go for that option, they should be a little louder than stock.
I just put the Straightshop Slip-ons on my '09 FXDC with the standard baffles. They are pretty loud. I was thinking of getting the "quiet baffles" as I hear they are not a whole lot more quiet but they give it a deeper tone.
I've got the straight shots on my '04 WG, and I like them a lot. That being said, they are pretty loud. I've thought about getting the quiet baffles for them, but haven't pulled the trigger yet. They have a nice, boat-motor rumble at idle, are nice and loud when you're on the throttle, but do give some popping when decelerating. I like the look of the big radius better, but these are working just fine.
I had the straight shots as my first set of pipes. They sounded damn good. I kinda wish sometimes I had just left it that way.. would have saved me a butt load of money!
I have the straight shots with the "quiet" baffles and let me tell you, they are NOT quiet. I got them used off ebay for $130 and the seller included the original baffles and the quite baffles. I started with the quiet baffles and have absolutely no desire to even try the standard baffle. Eventually I plan to get some V&H Big Shots simply because of the look but these will hold me over for a few years I think just fine.
