I believe the Pingle Harley Destoyer 49mm fork clamp would work, I will call them to get a part number.

Need the frame clamp and damper.

Can you elaborate on how it installs on your 05?

If you're installing a damper for looks then go for it, but if you're genuinely trying to use it to sort out an existing handling problem then you need to look at what's causing that problem in the first place. Steering dampers come from race bikes that have a steep rake angle and are thus unstable under power in a straight line as the weight is transferred from front to rear.

While fitting one to your Harley could stop a tank slapper occuring, if you're getting wobbles to the degree that you tnink you need a damper then the root cause needs to be treated - not the effect!

Cheers

You got to remember, they also improve straight line tracking. They will increase confidence in cornering situations and grooves and big bumps too. Gives a different feel to the front. Just makes the bike feel more stable. Stability brings confidence and thus the end user can smile more as he blasts further into turns and such. In the end he probably did not need the stabilizer, but having it made the ride more enjoyable. And it looks cool too.

You can buy those steering dampers under a different name from McMaster-Carr for about a quarter of the price..
