You have to remember that there are a lot of newbie Harley riders. Some may have been riding other brands but there are a lot of the, "I ride a Harley because it's fashionable." They really know little about bikes in general. Like the movie, "Wilds Hogs."
I had a man tell me that I was ridding the biggest sportster he had ever seen! Wanted to know what I had added to it. I have a Heritage Softail Springer. He though the springer made it a sportster
I did have a pizza delivery guy comment on how "bad azz" my bike looked. He then said he has never seen a harley with the shocks showing like mine was....LOL
Rear shocks are showing, skinny forks, the front fender doesn't wrap around sides of tire, model name not written in chrome on front fender, and it's a lot smaller than a geezer glide... it's understandable.
I've heard people comment about the bikes in my group saying "nice looking bunch of Harleys" -- we had a Vulcan, a Suzuki, two Hondas, a Yamaha, one Sportster and a Fat Boy there.
Just be courteous. Don't correct them in public and embarass them. If they really get into it, they'll learn, If they are just posers, it'll pass and you won't cross paths too much longer.
Yeah, correcting him might have got you that ticket. There are many differences on the Sportsters from the Dynas. For one thing (and I know we all know this) the sprocket is on the right side on a Sportster. Some bikers are funny. If you don't get a Harley you're a dick...then if you don't get the right Harley you're a dick. I've heard guys riding Softies and Tourers poke fun at Dynas. I'm not sure why though. Everybody knows the Dyna is a superior machine...Lol I'll tell ya though, those Street Glides are sharp as ****!

If they are on another HD then it's an invitation to some bike indoctrination, if it's someone else I just ignore it cause it might hurt their feelings.
