I used 2 x 6s under the tires and she went up but a Mickey Mouse way of doing things. Cheap though. I plan on either a J & S or as some one that has done a lot of rigging and has the slings, hoists etc. to do it I may make a spot in the garage where I simply hoist the bike from above.
I'd really like to see a J&S in person. Maybe they will be at the Int. M.C. in Mpls this coming Feb.
Prior to buying my J&S jack almost two years ago, I read lots of posting on which jack was "the best". Like oil, and I won't go there, there are 100s of opinions on which jack works best.

Each jack owner who is happy with their jack and with any adapter they felt they needed to build/buy/use is most likely happy with what they have and they are relaying their info to prospective jack buyers whenever a jack-related thread comes up - which seems to be every 7-10 days!

As for me, after reading the many postings, I went to the J&S website and watch the videos of their jack in action. It was enough to sway me into buying one and I continue to tell people it is "the best" jack that you can buy. If they are not attending the Intl M.C. in Minn., I suggest that you visit the website and check out the videos. It is not trick photography....the J&S jack is worth every dollar, even if it costs more than the others.

J&S also has great customer support and will politely and patiently answer any questions you may have after you buy it.You will not get that expertise or customer commitment from Sears or Harbor Freight.

How do you strap the bike down? I am looking for a jack and this thread has given me the information that I needed, but because I haven't used a jack before it would be great if you could share your knowledge on this subject. Thanks.

Default Don't Need Adapters!

I have an 03 Low Rider, and also have the Harbor Freight yellow lift. If you take the rubber lift plates off and pivot them 180 degrees so they are now on the "outside" of the lift arms you have just enough room to slide the jack under the bike and position it under the frame as it should be. It is a tight fit, and you will (at least I do) need someone to hold the bike upright to get the jack completely under the frame. You will also need to cut the front inside corner off the plate so it will allow the jack to comletely lower itself. PM me if you need to and I will send pics.

With the J&S you don't have to strap the bike down. I do it when I remove one wheel. I just loop it through the frame right over the tranny. Here's a video without straps. It was 2 days after I received the jack. I'm not so timid anymore.

I was waiting to see if someone else mentioned this. My bike is on the stand when I shove the jack under it.
