They put the big bore kit in and did not do the Dyno test first like I had arrainged on my work order.

Can they switch it back? The service manager will be in tomorrow. They have not put the new cam in or the adjustable rods yet.

I'm really upset, I wanted to know the difference between the stage 1 and stage 2 dyno test.

Mac,

They are Harley upgrades.

Stage 1 is with the Screaming eagle Airfilter and Screaming eagle pipes (or after market pipes) and your bike remapped (or changed to some companies tuner like V&H commander or fuel pak which does the remapping).

Stage 2 is with the big bore kitand stage 1 and maybe new cams, and SE tuner.

Stage 3 is all of the above with cams and new head (screaming eagle head and screaming eagle 211 cam I think) and race tuner.

I recomend Head-Quarters.

I have seen a head porting artical in my buddies new V twin mag the other day and that aleged "profesional" port job looked like ***.

I have seen a few buget head jobs that are probably fine.

But you get what you pay for, I assure you!

PS its not polite to Hi Jack a threat! just start a new one next time!

I got my bike back.

They just did a break in map so that it gets lots of fuel. No dyno chart or anything.

It sounds like its rich, and I'm not supposed to go over 4000 RPM for 500 miles. I bring it back to them in about 2 weeks. I should have the 500 by then.

It sounds pretty good. Kind of a stiffer shake, but it feels good. They tightened my clutch so the bikefeels different besides the motor. I think it feels stronger but not significant. They said I would not get much of the benifit till they tune it right. Another 2 weels. I'll keep ya posted.

Start ridding!

It should still feel torquier and more robust when you lay into it!

Mentor,

Wide Glide 2006 with 6 speed Transmission.

I had my bike dyno'ed with the 95Kit, TW6 woods Cams, K&N high flow filter & V&H Big shot Staggered Pipes with quite baffles and SE Tuner.

after 3 trips to one tuner I was left with 79HP and 85TQ. On one of the earlier tunes it was hotter but seemed too lean and wanted to sputter when rolling on the throttle normally from a stop after being riding fast on the freeway for awhile.

so I decided to pay another $300 and have it tuned by another tuner.

Now I am at 85HP and 91TQ (exact numbers when I post the dyno map). It pulls smoothly all the way up and a real nice upgrade in the feel of power when you just barley roll up the throttle a degree or two.

The second tuner said the initial tune was only to the top end and the bike was not tuned from top to bottom and the rear cyclindar had basically a stock map.

I think the numbers look good considering no head work and the response is really nice when your riding. I will post the dyno map soon.

I guess my point is that the tuner makes a big difference. Unfortunatly aperson can't tell if it is tuned right or not. Of course it felt good (strong)even with the first tune. But the final tune I have now is stronger and smoother. It has a much better power feel for normal drivinglike just quick 5 MPH or 10MPH speed increases. Oh and I can pull my 6th gear nicely from 65 MPH and 2500 RPM but I can even pull pretty good from 55 at about 2100 RPM. That makes it nice for freeway driving where the speeds fluctuate from 60 to 80 and you don't have to change gears.

Oh,so I got thesecond tuner to agree to run and evaluate the tune I had for $40.00. It took him an hour or so.So then he said he thought it could be done much better and applied the $40 to the retune. It took him about 4 hours to complete thetune.

Just trying to give you a reference point. I had a 95" kit with se 211 chain drivecams, SERT, and HC forged pistons done about a year ago. It dynoed at 93 ft pds of torque and 85 hp. It also had SEII slip on torque mufflers. It came on about 2500 rpm and pulled strong to about 6000 rpm. It sounds like yours is very similar. Hope you enjoy it I did mine.

Dyna Rider,

Thank you very much for the input. Thats what is great about these forums, you can get feedback about what to expect - not the pipe dreams they tell you before you spend the money. As I recall, the dealer had mentioned numbers like 90HP and 100Lbs Torque with my setup - then when it was all done the numbers of what to expect were revised to 85 & 95 and of course the guy who tuned it to 80 & 90 said that was what was really to be expected if you tuned the bike to give good low RPM power. Of course he did not attach numbers to the good low RPM power like saying at 2500 you should have xxx HP and xxx Torque. But now with the final tune It seems to have the best ride it has had but the TQ graph is not smooth. I still have to get an opinion on that and if it makes sense. It could just be the type of graph he used. It is different from the two graphs I got from the first tuner.

So now the Glendale Harley dealer who did the last tune said the numbers I have (est because I just forget the exact but this is probably right) 84.85 HP and 95 TQ are the right numbers, LOL. I guess you seel, from their standpoint whatever they do and end up with is the right number.

And interestingly the graph from the one tuner was very smooth the new graph is very lumpy as far as torque and the graphs are laid out different.

I found my first dyno tune graph and I have my last (3rd) graph and I am looking for the 2nd graph so I can post all three.

I hope to post the graphs tonight.

JD
