Default Getting ready to change my oil

I was wondering if anyone knew the torque spec for the engine oil nut

It should be listed in your owner's manual.
For 2009 it states 14-21 ft-lbs (19.0-28.5 Nm)

Change your primary and tranny fluid also, the service manual is full of useful maintenance info.

yea i have to get a service manual everytime i go into the dealer i forget to order it !!! thanks for the reply guys

i only have 415 miles on the bike didnt know if i should touch those oils yet

It's still breaking in, if your still riding it, I would wait until you put more miles on it. If its winter and sitting for a long time, consider having the dealer do the 1K service so everything gets checked out properly and after that you can change it on your own. Save your receipts and log your miles. my 2 cents

NO NOT "good en tight" you will destroy the little o-ring if you tighten the **** out of it and put a new o-ring on every time on all the plugs

so far it looks like riding is done over here in PA we just got hit with 24" of snow and the future is not looking much better prolly just going to change the engine then in the spring get more miles and do the 1k service

+1 i agree with you completly on some things good and tight is good motorcycles its bad always use torque specs i have bein a tech for years and thats one rule to follow
