Probably a stupid question to some, but can anyone give me the gist on how to take the fork sliders off so I can get them powdercoated. I have an 09 Super Glide and really like the looks of them blacked out----
thanks in advance
hey bud, on my phone so i can not write it all up, but if you do a search i know that i have outlined a step by step at least 5 times... it is in there... if you can not track it down PM me and when i get home i can send it to you.
Yep, I got that same shortcut on my desktop right now. I just took my front end apart a couple of weeks ago for the same reason, the powder pro is doing my lowers so I wanted to see what the experts had to say to remove em. I gotta service manual but I also don't own any HD certified tooling, so you can't buy the information found in these forums.
So as you are looking over that post with pkelly's take note to first thing afer you remove wheel, break loose those 12mm bolts in the bottom of the sliders while they are mounted on the triple trees. They were tight so that helped a bunch, everything else was pretty well text book. I bought a 12mm allen wrench and cut it off at the elbow, then threw it in my 12 mm socket, and latched it up to my 4ft breaker bar and I was surprised at how much umphhhh I had to get it before (CRACK), those bolts broke loose.
