No timing issues with the motor. Just be sure to follow the shop manual to disassemble the clutch plates, you won`t have to remove the clutch assembly from the primary.

I will take apart the clutch plates today after I get off work and see what I find. All the spockets look good so hopefully the clutch does too.

The engine isn't "timed " to the clutch, the primary chain on the engine/clutch is there to transmit the power from the engine to the drive components. Similar to the main sprocket to the axle sprocket on a bicycle.

above, and the two pix below,
you see the -06A component is considerably beefed up.

Both pix above, you can clearly see that the original skinny toothed base section is distorted
disallowing full and positive engagement with the toothed wedge.

.
below, you see they not only beefed up the base piece,
they also reconfigured the wedge,
changing to 5 teeth at each end instead of teeth continuous from end to end.

You would think the MoCo would have found this problem in that design before putting it on the street.. Sheesh.

My 02 DWG has one of those HB 125 hydraulic tensioner. The OP can get one in that wedge style too: http://www.sohotbikes.com/wedge.html

Dyna3B0B, don't feel bad, its no biggie. Sh*t happens. My Buddy's drain plug backed out once on a ride, and didn't know it until the same thing happed to him. He was lucky he wasn't killed with all the primary oil all over the back tire. I would definitely take the clutch plates out, and clean them. Its a real easy job, and good piece of mind.

The Wedge that I found in my primary was the wedge with more than five teeth. I haven't ordered the part yet because I have to wait until I get paid Friday but it's good to known that there are two different parts. I will make sure to check out the part before I leave the shop to ensure it is the right part.
