About 30 years ago I had my 72 sporty stolen its a feeling I know Ill never forget.... that brings me to my question. I just picked up a 2001 Dyna Low Rider thats equipped with a Harley (beep beep sound) Alarm and the usual front fork lock.
my questions-
1, can these alarms and fork lock be hacked picked to not work??
2, If I leave the Alarm on 24/7 is that a battery drain?
3, when i run to the mall and engage both the Alarm and front fork lock how safe is it ??
1. Yes, any lock or alarm can be disabled. 2. Mine stays set for days at a time with no problems. 3. Not safe enough to cancel your insurance. Any bike or car can be stolen on any day by a determined theif. Will the lock and alarm stop most? Yes. Ride the bike, lock it and quit worrying. Good insurance will replace it.
Yup I just picked up a Pager for my V-Rod. I like them better then a siren as they just annoy everyone but the thief .
I'm also from the If they really want it ,it's their group. have seen Cars get taken in broad daylight and everyone thinking they were just getting repo'd , nope Stolen with a stolen towtruck lol.

best thing to have for your bike is full coverage with no deductible. Any alarm/lock can be proven useless by a good thief. The good thing is they help against a bad thief.

well with a deductible, you will get the worth of your bike minus the deductible. I have a no deductible full coverage policy on my 05 FXDC, 195 bucks a year and this include up to 4K in aftermarket accessories. Heck, my bike is worth more stolen than if I were to try to sell it.
