Hello all, I have been reading and learning from this forum for a long time but this is my first post. My wife bought me a Cardo Scala Q2 helmet communication system for Christmas. In reading the info and talking to the company I find that I cannot use this with my half helmet. Does anyone know if this info is correct and are there any products out there that work with half helmets.
I think one of the reasons most comm systems don't work with anything but a full face, is because of wind noise.
Now if you could adapt a tactical style throat mic, into a system that also utilizes snug fit ear buds..... you should be able to use it even without a helmet.... because it picks up the vocal vibration from your throat, and not the air.... surrounding wind and such would not affect it.
Here's these, but I know there is one out there that I actually saw someone using and he said they are awesome and work great with his half helmet. I thought I bookmarked them, but I couldn't find them. I'll keep looking!
