it's getting close to time for my bike to be reassembled and now i'm starting to sweat the details.
i ordered 14" carlini streetfighters and a set of 2 inch risers for them to sit on.
now i'm thinking i'd like to go higher as all i've ever read tells me that anyone who's put 12 or 14 inch apes on their bike has upgraded to 16s. my bars were a lot of money and changing the risers is 1/10 the cost of changing the bars
i'm thinking i'd like to put 3.5 inch risers on instead of the 2 inch.
can anyone chime in on how this would look? would risers close to 4 inches look a little weird under tall apes?
yes they would... I don't have tall apes... yet.. but I have the miniapes.. and 4 inch risers.. and I have to admit they look stupid... had to cover them up with a tool bag.. .couldn't imagine tall risers with tall bars.. just my opinion.
I for one have no desire to upgrade to 16's, my 12's are perfect. Try what you have first, 16's are not for everyone. On long rides there is no way I would be happy any higher than I am and long rides are something I enjoy very much.
Too much of a good thing may not be a good thing for everyone. If you have sized your wires and cables properly swapping out risers for an inch or two more would be no problem later.
