the service guy at the stealership. I called him to see if I my be a candidate for 25' injectors, cause everytime I start my bike it runs for 3 sec. and stalls. This used to happen once in a while but now it seems like every time. The guy acted like he never heard of 25' injectors. He was also was clueless about the Fuel Pak, which I understand because its not a HD product. But, the f'in guy didn't know what a SERT was they have only been running the DL.
It just pisses me off a little that I called a "service tech" for help and he was clueless. I guess he should join the forumn and maybe learn something.
Anyway I'm interested in any opinions on why my bike keeps stalling, fuel pak?, injectors?, ????
this service guy must be new. I would go in and talk to the service mgr. I don't think its the fuelpak, but the stealer will tell you to remove the fuelpak and go for the download. Sometimes I have better luck with cycle shops that have certified harley mechanics working for them . But if it a warranty issue then you back at the dealer. Go with the new injectors.
when did you buy your bike? if you look on the horn side at the top of the "v" you'll see the unmistakable injectors. you'll need a flashlight. I believe that the number you'll see designates. If it ends in -06 they are the 8 deg injectors which could be a problem. Or it could not. some run fine and others don't. 1/10 shot. The dealer can check this at no cost.
My bike was stalling too and now it is sitting in the shop waiting for a new fuel pump. The pumps on backorder - they are making the pump in Millwaukee this week and shipping it out on Friday I hope. Plus they put in the new injectors. If yours is still under warrenty, take it in and let them fix it.
Listen to your pump when you turn the key on - mine started making funny noises during startups about two weeks ago.

Yeah, sometimes the pump does sound funny like a squeak or something. I hate leaving the bike, I ride everyday. It's still under warrenty unless they give me $hit about doing my own service or installing my own pipes.

My spanking new '07 sometimes makes a funny noise when turning the key on - but I've also had this on other bikes and have not had to replace a pump so I'm not convinced it's necessarily indicative of a failing pump.
Just curious, how hard is it to replace a fuel pump?
