After not riding for more than 2 months due to doctors orders, I finally get the OK to start with some short rides and the weather here in Florida is way to cold for me. It was 30 degrees when I left for work this morning, and now it looks like rain and possible snow flurries for this Friday and Saturday. Ive been jonesing for a ride but I guess it will have to wait.
I havent even started my Superglide since the last time I rode. Other than possibly having to charge the battery is there any other problems with not starting it in such a long time?

At least you wait wont be that much longer... We are just getting started up here and the way its looking, still got a way to go... Cheer up, you'll be back in the saddle soon
If you think that sucks, check the weather up north. It really sucks for riding. My next ride may take 2-3 months before it happens. Now that sucks. It is all perspective.
I realize there are people who will not be riding anytime soon and Im lucky for my short wait but I moved to Florida to get away from this kind of weather.

Where in Florida is it 30 degrees? Your gasoline should still be okay. But if you are going to let it sit for a month or longer, you should put in Stabil so that the gasoline doesn't break down and gum up the fuel system. Make sure to fill up with good 93 octane gas as soon as you get the chance. Also, check the plugs. Clean and gap them if they are a little cruddy.
Also, don't just jump on the bike and ride. Do a thorough TCLOCS check of the bike. Check every nut and bolt from the front of the bike to the back - check the air pressure in tires, make sure the lights all work and so on.
While you are posting on Mothernature.com make sure you put in an order for a short winter for all of us.....where is global warming when you really need it. By the way congrats on getting cleared to ride. Now when you do get to ride, do one for all of us Snowbirds up here.
I was riding today, the weather was perfect. It was in the low 20's this morning though.
By the time I got home from work and driving the kids to their after school sports it was getting dark and cold again.

.
I already did that, I just need to top off the tires
By the way congrats on getting cleared to ride
Thanks, the last 2 + months have seemed to drag by Im glad its almost over, I still have a little time to be back to 100% but Im feeling better every day. With out going into all the details if I would have went to the doctors 6 months earlier I would not have been in the position Im in now. I realize now that Im getting older and my body isnt as bullet proof as I was in my teens or 20's or 30's or..............
Live and learn.
hey dont feel too bad, the high was 0 today and a low of -17 before wind chill, tomorrow will be -4 for a high and -23 for the low, with 20-30 mile an hour winds, 20+ inches of snow in places no ride for me for a while now
